Story: Bond is at it again, pursuing the enemies who killed Vesper Lynn and tracing the 150 million in American dollars stolen from the English government in Casino Royale. We open on a chase scene with Bond driving an impressive Aston Martin DBS, probably the one “M” sent to him in Montenegro in the previous film. Unfortunately it does not survive the first 10 minutes of the film intact. The mysterious Mr. White is being questioned by “M” when suddenly one of her bodyguards tries to kill her. Mr. White escapes, and Bond pursues the gunman in hopes of learning who has sent him on this mission, but alas, James has to kill him (in self defense, of course). Bond pursues the leads to find his ultimate goal, the reason behind the unknown group and the man who seduced Vesper Lynn into the clutches of their evil.
Review: As I said before, this character is once of my favorites, so I will dispense with the gushing and concentrate on this particular film. The recurring characters are exceptional, maintaining their personas as if the first film had simply progressed into the second. Both Olga Kurylenko and Gemma Arterton are splendid “Bond girls” and add the expected sexual tension that accompanies the legendary Bond. The photography is excellent, the plot flows magnificently, and the interaction of he audience and the opera Tosca is certainly one of the highlights of the film. A must see for any true Bond afficianado.
