Story: Kyle Miller is the quintessential yuppie salesman, living in a custom built estate with a beautiful wife and a lovely teenage daughter. On the surface all seems well, until the Millers are beset by 3 armed and masked men and one woman who are intent on robbing them. Violence and suspense leads the rest of the plot with “what's going to happen next?” as the question throbbing through the temples of the audience.
Review: Joel Schumacher (2 Batmans and a slew of impressive movies) manages to take a tired and somewhat overused plot and make it exciting enough to watch once through. Performances from Cage and Kidman are up to their usual standards, with Cage reverting from time to time to the roles he has played in “Gone is 60 Seconds” and “The Family Man”, waving his arms and ranting at his adversaries. Interesting is the performance of Liana Liberato, a young starlet fresh out of the television screen and in her third film with Millennium. Overall, the movie does have its moments, but only once. A rental, not a buy.
